Crosslink Company History

Crosslink is a privately held company with world class expertise in Electrochemistry and Polymer Science. Established in 1997, the company originally focused on creating EAP solutions in the laboratory.

New leadership in 1999 brought an emphasis on commercializing products to bring step-change advancements to customers’ products. Since then, the company has expanded its scientific and business team and created partnerships with leading universities in key technology areas. In addition, Crosslink forged alliances with the U.S. government and several significant industry leaders to fund development and commercialize products based on market needs.

The company’s success lies largely in its team of highly skilled scientists, which together have authored more than 100 patents. This solid scientific knowledge combined with its process for evaluating market potential and developing solutions with viable commercial application allows Crosslink to provide advanced EAP science married with market potential.

Since 2006, the company has expanded its emphasis on energy storage, working with both material replacement and thin film polymer based supercapacitors. Crosslink was also tapped to develop a self-detoxifying system for chemical and biological warfare for the Department of Defense together with Missouri State University at the Jordan Valley Innovation Center.

In 2008, Crosslink signed licence agreements in North America and Europe aimed at commercializing its Superflex technology for both military and civilian applications. During 2008, the company began work on thin film state of health sensors for composites in conjunction with The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. During the third quarter of 2010, Crosslink will begin work on a Controlled Drug Delivery System, building on the intellectual property and expertise already developed.

The company will continue to develop and enhance its offerings while it identifies partners in both private and public sectors to assist matching the company's technology with the most promising commercial markets and opportunities.
