In a world threatened by harmful chemical and biological agents (CBAs), detoxification solutions become very important to the well-being of individuals and military personnel on the battlefield. Traditional approaches to decontamination are equipment washdown with neutralizing solutions and water, incineration and reactive sorbent powder wipes. These are tedious and create problems with chemical waste disposal. In addition, these processes only are effective post-attack and are not preventative in nature.
Crosslink’s self-detoxification coating, based on electroactive polymer technology, is a reactive coating that rapidly neutralizes chemical or biological agents. This reactive coating has two components:
Crosslink's polymer-based system for detoxification reacts with CBAs and destroys them. Crosslink’s coating can be applied to a variety of surfaces and products, and can be used in a range of industries.
Crosslink’s detoxification coating works on immediate contact with the biological or chemical agent. It works fast to destroy the agent and greatly shortens response time following a chemical or biological attack, allowing personnel to focus on mission-critical activities, not on decontamination.
Due to a novel self-generating process the coating completes on its own, Crosslink’s detoxification coating does not need to be reapplied after each attack. It is designed to withstand multiple attacks.
Throughout the entire self-detoxification process, there are no dangerous chemicals by products or biological species produced or created. Crosslink’s coating is safe for the environment and does not create hazardous chemical or biological waste.
Crosslink’s self-detoxification coating opens the door to many potential applications. Contact Crosslink’s technical experts to see how our detoxification coating can be your solution.
