meet the staff / young-gi kim, senior research scientist

George KoustisDr. Young-Gi Kim joined Crosslink in 2007 after working over four years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Professor John R. Reynolds Group at the University of Florida where he focused on advanced organic and polymer solar cells using variable band gap conjugated polymers and CNT.

At Crosslink he is currently focusing on the development of advanced supercapacitor device geometry including high energy and power density hybrid supercapacitors, bipolar supercapacitors and type III and IV supercapacitors. This effort includes developing electrochemical dual p-/n-dopable polymer electrodes and highly conductive ionic electrolytes that are viable at ultimately low temperature.

Dr. Kim has significant experience in the area of polymer-nano-energy-bio science and relevant applications including energy storage and conversion systems, opto-electronic systems, nano technology based devices and biosensors. He has published more than 17 SCI journal articles and is part of multiple international and US patent applications.

Dr. Kim is a member of American Chemical Society and Materials Research Society.
